euro-r h22a swap
Hi new to the site...already used the search for the euro-r swap
i found a place that will sell the VTEC, Twin Cam, efi, FWD, 2156cc, 4 cylinder, 16 valve, 220hp with 5 speed manual Transmission. Engine, Tranny, ECU, Wiring Harness. He hasnt replied so im waiting on a price. planing to turbo just seeing if this could be an option.
Any info would be apreciated

Doesn't the Euro R run a 11:1 compression? Turboing that motor will be risky without changing out the bottom end w/ better aftermarket parts.
I would hate to see that motor blow due to too much boost.

True, but the H series are a little more detonation prone than the B series. Thats why most H22s dont last very long at anything over 8lbs dailydriven. Plus the fact that the newer blocks are open deck. If you would want to turbocharge it with the factory internals your best investment would be a blockguard, good intercooler and a thicker head gasket to lower your compression ratio, from inline-pro for example.
Why spend 2k more buying the type R instead of buying the normal and spending those 2k building the engine for boost?
EDIT: i would understand if you buy the Type r if you are going NA, but if you are going turbo go with the H22A and get it sleeve if you want reliability

I woud be careful that you are actually getting the engine they say you are.
And yeah I'll agree with the others and say if you are going to boost why don't you buy a cheap H22a and build it properly? Euro-R motors still have shitty H22a ringlands...

don't buy the euro-r motor to boost it. If you buy the euro R, you should go n/a. You'll blow the motor... the ringlands will go first most likely. It won't be worth it to spend the extra money on the euro R to boost. Just stick with a usdm h22a and build it with the extra money you'll save.
truthfully im still debating on n/a and turbo.
wht kinda hp think i could get wit a fully built euro-r....im think 250+(just a geuss)

the ring lands from any h22a motor are very weak. And yes,the h22a motor is very sensitive to detonation from what i have seen personally.I say build a regular h22a motor for turbo if you really want to go that route.

Ringlands are part of the piston, there's really nothing you can do about it other than get aftermarket forged pistons which requires sleeving
