CTR pistons ? B16
i have a 99si and am looking to get CTR pistons. when i researched it siad that standerd pistons will fit without mod. Xcept for milling the rods? what does that mean and how diff./expencive is it? also are there any rods made fo the CTR pistons i could just replace instead of milling? this is all i know so if there's any more steps or things i need to upgrade plz tell me
there was either a topic on this last week, in tech, or this week in here, search around bud... it basically means you will have to modify the rod to fit inside of the piston as the stock b16 rods are too big for the pistons to fit w.o modification if i read the last post correctly...
no you cannot use ctr rods on b16 crank to solve problem...
you are prolly better off using usdm itr pistons as the ctr's might raise the c/r a tad more than you would want it to.
I am putting itr's in mine!!!

stock B16a is 10.2:1, add some CTR pistons and its 10.8:1 which is stock B16b compression. if you put ITR pistons in your b16a you go down to 10.1:1! yikes!
and as for milling the rods, that dude is right. the top of the rods don't fit inside the pistons so you have to shave them down.
