Which ECU Should We Get?
My friend just recently purchased a accord motor. Its the motor from the i think 98 accord coupes 4 cylinder auto, which he put into his 97 accord lx.Which ECU did his original motor have? He now needs a different ECU, but cant decide which one to get.Which ECU do you guys think works best for this set-up?Are there any "chips" out for this set-up?He is looking for power gains so i guess an ECU that would benefit from Hp would be the best thing, but hee's also looking for reliability with no problems. I was guessing like a prelude ECU or something, but i dont know much about accords. So i guess he would be getting a obd-1 ECU, so it could be chipped, or tuned, but whicheveer is best i think he would get.Money isnt going to be that much of a problem he just wants his car to run a little better, actually he want s it faster. Thanks guys any heelp will do!
a OBD1 P28 will do fine...
in terms of programs since you have a SOHC 2.2, you wouldnt want to run programs that have aggressive fuel maps for DOHC engines...
perhaps some B16A programs would be good, however i dun like the idea of a F22 engine redlining at 9K

so the ecu is a f22 for the accord coupes, the motor that he has now?So he would need a obd 1 Ecu...but i dont get how a p28 would work ok.what about getting the original ecu from the motor he recently installed?
