Parking Brake problem
I have a 92 civic si hatch, everytime i park on a hill the parking brake will not work when my car is in neutral, i have to put the car into 1st gear.....does anyone know how to fix this?????? The parking brake somewhat works but does not hold very well.......
you need to adjust it, it gets loose over time. I have a 2k civic, but it has to be the same.
Take out the center console (armrest) around the e-brake handle. Then you will see the 2 cables that attach to the handle. There are a pair of nuts on the cables that allow for adjustment. Just loosen one and spin it up so the cable is taught, and then tighten the other to it to keep it in place. Also the e-brake affects the rear brakes, so make sure your rear pads or shoes arn't warn also.
PM me if you have any problems, also check out a Helmes manual
