Ok heres the deal the compressor clutch is not engaging, but if i take a jumper wire and run it from the battery directly to the wire on the compressor it will engage but other then that it wont engage with the wire thats on the harness.

I checked the wire thats on the harness for voltage and it only has around 10 volts, should it be 12 volts?

 

does the ac system have proper pressure (freeon) on the low and high side?

 

Check the relay.

 

i replaced the relay already

 

How about the a/c thermostat?

 

There is a safety switch and if the pressure is either too high or too low it wont allow the compressor to engage. I would bet that is your problem especially if you can run a hot lead to it and it engages. Take it to a place and have them check it and if its low find out why.

 

there's a big juicy section in the manual about ac problems, check it out. it should solve all your problems

 

Yeah i knew about the pressure switch on the lines i havent hooked any guages up to see if it was low but when i used the jumper wire to engage the clutch the a/c was working good so i didnt think it would be low. guess ill get it checked at school sometime

 

Just because it still blows cold doesnt mean it isnt low.
