89 CRX??
hey wuuz up people? my names chris and im new here woo hoo!! well i just bought a 89 crx this thing is tore down...it wont rev over 4000 Rpm and it looks like *** is this car worth modding i think the engine is a 1.6..what engins will fit in this car? what kind of price for a full swap? im looking to go with a turbo, so whatever engine is best for boost, i was told its the si motor??? im lame with hondas, i have a corolla. i bought the car for 200 bucks i couldent resist..
well man... i bought my HF for 400 bucks and it was totalled. i dropped about 10 grand into it making it the fastest street driven crx around my area. you have to make up your own mind whether it is worth it or not. CRX is the primo car to do a swap in, and anyone will tell you the same. they are the lightest fuel injected honda made, and swaps are easy and cheap. plus they look great!!!! gimme an email and ill send you some pics of mine....maybe they will help you make up your mind

u know dont be a dick and ASSume somone knows absolutly nothing about cars. try turbocharging a 2001 toyota corolla!!! its not a matter of slapping on a turbo kit..there are no damn kits, its all got to be done custom, oh and i cant forget about trying to come up with a way to trick the valve timing system into not working..yeah we dont have a "v-tec controller" so why dont you try modding a car thats a challange. before insulting anothers intelligence...!!!
oh and yes you were right i sould have searched ..sorry.

do ur home work!! everyone wants something differant,im end to the most with the least amount of money!! so im into a zc motor about 600 for motor and tranny, ecu about 50, use ur same axles and a si tranny for 150 and ur in the 15,s and more to work with on a dohc. if u want big go b16 cost more
when I first bought my 91 hatchy I didnt know what the hell was out there for it
Hell if I never knew about its potential it would probably be a lowrider right
now. luckily I found magazines and saw how much stuff was available for it.
First timers usually go thru the rice stage and after seeing everyone elses Honda
looking like how they wanted it to look they just leave it the way it is.
I chose the B16a motor because I heard it was a very potent engine and thats what my cousin had. I then learned about the TypeR engines but at the time they were about 5500.00 and I didnt have nearly enough so I just ended up putting all TypeR parts in my b16a and ended up spending more on those parts than what a TypeR engine costs today(3500.00). Its all about what you want to do. you can take tips from these guys here but dont copy thats what makes it unique.

I have a SOHC 1.6 engine in my CRX, which came out of a 94 civic ex. You can get a motor like that for about 500 to 1k depending how many miles are on the motor. You can put a various different motors in the car, just depends on the money you are wanting to put into the car.

you could just rebuild the d16a6 with low compression pistons and do turbo setup...more boost with lower compression..use a 88 STD exhaust manifold and make a adapter plate to bolt on a 1st gen eclipse turbo and injectors on it get a intercooler run the pipes...and make sure it doesnt knock...turbo the d16a6..its easy no obd1 wiring for the vtec...no mount kits and engine swap that cost like 2g's..d16a6 with turbo could easily run low 14's or high 13's ive seen it many times at the track and thats the toure im going..it will be beat my b16a hatch to be
