Default very very strange....

okay i seriously am not much of a audio person so i dont know.. but ive had a system in my civic for a while and i blew the sub so i disconnected the power from my amp and kept it in there... well my gf gave me one of her old subs today and i connected the power again and when i turned my car on it idled at 1750 or so.. and it wouldnt go down!!! i drove around thinking it was because my engine was cold, but after 10 mins of driving it stil idled at 1750 or so.... so i turned off the car and restarted and it was down to 500 idle... why did this happen?

Umm... doesn't sound like an amp problem. Is it a Civic, Teg or Accord? IACV problems are pretty common.

Edit: Duh, you say Civic. Ok, has this only happened once? If not, remove the amp completly and see if it still happens.

Your IACV has a wax valve, or something like that. Sometimes it does weird things. Might want to replace it soon. Its located on the back side of the intake manifold.

Sometimes cars do strange things. If it is repeatable or frequent, then I worry. My civic used to have serious iacv issues. I never replaced it though.
