sorry to say, but you have a blown head gasket, stretched head bolts, or cracked sleeve

I have reused my stock gsr headbolts when I put my 3mm headgasket in. Could it that they are just loose?

When my car is cool, the coolant level is low, and after the car warms up, like after a drive, the coolant level goes up a little. I dont know why, but it does, and I know 100% I dont have a blown headgasket. If it over flows alot, it could also be that your car is overheating. Maybe not drasticly, but a little bit. Good luck!!!

can you bleed the air out of the coolant system, are both hoses getting hot. Maybe an air bubble. thats what I had.

If I get headstuds, do I need to remove the head?

thats what the overflow tank is for. the coolant expands a little when it gets hot. this is normal. it shouldn't fill up though. if you look close, the overflow tank has cold /hot or min /max level indicators on it (most do).

Yea I was wondering, my overfill bottle doesnt fill up...but some coolant does go into it only when I do a hard run. I also have white smoke on start ups, but after my engine is at normal temp, the smoke is gone. I'm having trouble diagnosing my problem to decide if I really need to replace my head gasket or if something else is the culprit.

A little coolant going back into the overfill bottle is normal due to expansion.

white smoke on startup = coolant being burned. Could be your headgasket.

Check compression on your cylinders.

Couldn't he also have some valve guides going out to cuase this? It would be a blue/white smoke then not a pungent white though

It's 100% normal for a little coolant to over flow to the coolant bottle when the engine is hot. When the engine is cool, the coolant should recovered back into the radiator. When you start an cold engine, it's also 100% normal to see some white exhaust smoke (not heavy) until it's warmed up. If the radiator is not losing any coolant, coolant smell in the exhaust, over heating, or oil turns to milky color, you should be fine.

Amen to that! I would definately do that before you go and pull your motor apart

Ouch, that's gonna be a pain to do it all over again.

But check everything else first to see if you can remedy the problem. Afterwards, if it's still happening, then I'm sorry but you'll have to replace the bolts. (Might as well do it anyways)

I know it's obvious but check your fan. Mine was unplugged and I had the same problem.

do you have an aftermarket radiator? or oem? oem tends to blow chunks. they use ceramic with an aluminum core. i had a problem similar to that, but not boosted, and i let it go and finally it blew and splattered all over my window while i was driving. check the top of your radiator and see if coolant is seeping out of the top....but that's only if you have a stock radiator.
