STS sway bar options Type R with BSQ kit
The rule states
17.7. ANTI-SWAY BARS
Any anti-sway bar is permitted. Bushing material, method of attachment, and locating points are unrestricted. This does not authorize removal of a welded-on part of a subframe toa ccommodate the installation. Components such as anti-roll bars and strut housings which serve dual purposes by also functioning as suspension locators may not be modified in ways which change the suspension geometry or steering geometry
So removal of those nuts takes you out of STS???? Yes or no?? any tech inspectors know? You have to knock off the welded on nuts to install the type r rear bar.. so this takes me out of STS

Good question....
My question is, since some of the 5G hatches (and others I assume) came with the nuts, and some didn't, who can really make that call?
I would assume it could go either way if the other chassis' are the same.

Technically, it'd be illegal to remove the nut. But if anyone protested you on that, I'd be extremely surprised.
There's also the part about being allowed to do some updating/backdating. If you can ud/bd to a car that doesn't have the nut, then removing it may be legal.
