Side Moldings
i was thinkin bout shavin my moldings..i got a 99 ls..the moldings are already painted..but i was wondering if when you remove them..does paint need to be applied again in those areas? and is it a good idea..and also..people that have done it before...how much did it cost you? thanks
your going to need the holes filled in. the best way is to have em welded shut, this requires grinding so yes you will need to have the doors painted. as for cost...i can only go as to what my shop charged. 75$ per hour, this is atleast a 5 hour job so thats 375$ and to paint your looking at around 500$. but i'm sure there's people on here who have it done. try a search.
Where I park at work and around town, I run a high risk of door dings. I recently had body work done and I had over a dozen dings removed- plus a few divets in the moulding. If I didn't have the mouldings, I'm sure the ding count would have been at least twice that. I've twice been sitting in the car and had a child SLAM his mom/dad's car door into mine. Those little ***** should be sent to a russian boarding school.
I wish I lived in an area where I didn't need side moudings.
what does that mean?
what does that mean?
i was thinking about doing the same thing, it will require you to repaint the side moldings, but if you dont want to weld, you can glue patches from the inside of the car, just make sure the area is cleaned very well,
