i really dont have a clue whats going on with my car. i have tried to search. at first i thought it was the CEL for the knock sensor that comes on sometimes. when i get my car tuned, i will get it to turn off. i currently have a p30 hondata 3. when i turn my car on it idles "high, low, high, low............." and i try to drive it but them like everything cuts off at like 3K RPM (kinda like a fuel cutoff, and the throttle comes back when i drop to like 1K rpm)

only once in a while i can get it to drive above like 3K, to about 4 maybe. i really dont even have 1 mile on the new motor yet. it revs up kinda find in nuetral.

can you please tell me what it might be? thanx

 

 

Have you checked vacuum lines and fuel pressure regulator/injectors/fuel filter? If not, do so and get back to us.

 

That happened to my ls/vtec when I just plugged my new gsr ecu on (without hooking up my wires for the knock sensor, vtec sol. or oil press. switch), but after hooking up all the necessary wires, it ran past 4000 and ran normally. So I guess it wouldn't hurt to check that knock sensor/wires, etc. Just a thought....

 

sounds like you might have a problem with your fuel system

 

well i doubt its myy fuel system.. but thats what it feels like. the pedal goes dead. i have no knock sensor. but the CEL still comes on. im going to invest in a p28 and get rid of my p30 cuz i cant get it programmed anytime soon

 

sounds like its running in limp mode, check your sensors and see if ur throwing up any codes. make sure your not throwing up codesany , plug in that knock sensor.

 

i dont have knock sensor... thats the thing. but the ECU picks it up like i do.

 

try a different ecu, p28 or stock p30. See if your getting the same problem.

 

My friend's GSR kinda has the same problem...
When it idles it goes up and down, and the fuel cutoff is at 7k.
He's not sure what the problem is either...

 

my friend had the same problem on his 2000 civic ex when his o2 sensor came unhooked and he had a vacum leak. check ur sensors and all ur wiring and check ur fuel filter. good luck man
