Default Trading my car for a 1999 Prelude Sh w/ a built motor whats it worth

Hi I am new to this forum and don't know to much about hondas. I have a 94 twin turbo supra six speed and some guy is trading me his 1999 honda prelude sh pearl white with 43k miles on it. The car is a one owner car with no accidents and clear and clean title, etc. It has a built motor that was built by him professionally done he owns a very reputable performance shop in NJ and looking for another show car. I can also get a turbo with it if i want. The car has about 10k or so into and is fully tuned and blueprinted and everything and professioanly installed. As i am trading my car for this one I just wanted to know what you guys think its worth? You can also e-mail me at cor2nir@aol.com if any questions thanks corey

you have a TT supra and you are TRADING for a 99 sh?!?! OMG
what are your plans for the car, because if you just want a fun car then the prelude will be that, but you can get soooo much more power out of the supra. also i have been told (and hope beyond hope that it isnt true) but sh's arent good for turbo because of the atts. What kind of power does the lude put down, if it is that biult im sure the guy should have dynos to show you or time slips or something.
probably worth like 20 something K though maybe 25k i would think

EDIT: oh yeah if it is fully tuned without the turbo, you would have to tune everything all over again if you wanted it, so probably not worth it
by the way, whats the shop called. i might need some engine work done myself

YOURE CRAZY!!!! keep your supra...an Sh can be turbcharged but if you go over 250-280hp then the ATTS will be just dead weight...sure you can yank it out and do whats needed to make it work...but that will cost you..if you dont mind having dead weight than yeah sure you can turbo it..i will...im guessing what i have planned will make up for the dead weight....but keep the supra...god I would kill for a supra right about now...nothing but turbocharged hyundais....yes hyundais!!! and eclipses where i live and me with just basic bolt ons

I've got a 99 SH with supercharger and i'll trade ya. But if you want some help though, give me more of the details of how built is the prelude?? Does it have forged pistons/rods? what compression? port/polished? what kind of header/exhaust? is the catalytic converter changed?

That's not too bad. The thing is...coming across 6 speed TT are hard now. They normally come in auto trannys.
You can't beat having a turbo RWD car. Hondas are fun and all but when I drive my 325ci....it is a COMPLETELY different driving experience. And you have a turbo!!
I say keep the Supra.

Just like every other reply Prelude for a 94 TT Supra? I would never even consider it. Unless the prelude is fully tuned with a 25 lb turbo and completely raced out. But then again I still wouldn't do it.

So what do you guys think? What is this car with I'll post up some details and stuff in a little while once I get all the info? the only reason i am getting rid of the supra is b/c i am goin to college and dont want to take it there, if that wasnt the case it wouldnt even be for sale or trade.

I would keep the supra....you must be on crack to trade it. Even if you do go to college, theres always scholarships if you need money or even gov't grants.

Personally I'd keep the Supra...just my opinion.

Well guys obvioulsy, you know theres lots of cash involved as well, since my car is worth more then a prelude. I am not just trading straight up. I am not selling it b/c of schools funds or etc, i am selling it because i dont want it to sit outside everynight and get messed up with dents and dings and stuff at college just want a car that i can drive everyday and wont spazz out if it gets a door ding. Heres the details on the car:

1999 Type SH will have ~43k miles at the
trade. Motor was recently built at 32.5k miles. Anyways here are the
parts:

JE 9.0:1 pistons
Crower Chromoley rods
Microbalanced and polished crank
Pinned Block
Blueprinted motor
1/8" ductile iron sleeves
DC short shifter
ACT extreme clutch with solid face disc
MSD blaster 2 coil
Iceman CAI with extender to go in fender
Stock intake as well
3" mandrel bend cat back exhaust
Stock exhaust as well if wanted
16" wheel with AVON Z rated tires 205/50/16 with pretty much full tread.
taylor spiral pro wires
HKS Type0 Turbo Timer
OEM chin spoiler
new distributor
new water pump
new belts

the prelude will still get dinged. Plus, there will probably be ah igher risk of theft. Why even take a car to school. Or, save up a little bit of money and buy a crx or something that you really really don't care about and take that. I spent the first semester at college without a car and i was fine. I brought my car over during the second semester because i wanted to get a job off campus. I didn't even really use it, i just worried about it getting broken into or getting filthy. I have it now and i only drive it on the weekends. I could get by without it easily though. It i was you, i would keep the supra hands down. a lot of people on this board would agree with me.

why is the compression so low?!? was he planning on definately putting the turbo into it? if not, i would definately thinkk about switching the pistons. if your getting that the turbo and 9k it might be worth it.

Hey man, I see where you are coming from. I had my new car when I went to college too. Fortunately, I had my own personal garage for two years. The other two years was not fun.
Sounds like the Prelude is nicely done. I see where you are coming from.

A Supra is a nice car...a classic (93.5-97) but there will be a lot of cool cars coming out soon that you could always get too. The only thing is that getting another Supra like the one you have will be VERY difficult. Also, finding one thta has not been modded will be tough too.

But if he is giving you a 99 Type SH that is built PLUS $9K....that is a really good deal man.
I say do it only because you are still in college. You have PLENTY of time to experience great cars since you are so young. Don't get tied down financially to one car..you know??

I would have loved to have gotten a nice 96-97 Supra when I bought my 325 but i couldn't find any in good condition/modded.
I say go for it...the Lude will hold it's value too. You can always sell it if you don't like it.
Good luck in your decision.

Well guys thanks for the input. I think I am going to do the deal since I don't want to be more attached to my supra in spring. If anyone knows anyone that wants this prelude, i will definetlyhook them up phat, lets say you buy the car wholesaleand you pay like 35% for the parts, now i think thats a deal. PLus if you find me a buyer i will also send you some money or hook you up with some performance parts from my buddy.

By the way I do have four pics of the car if anyone wants to see them. Please e-mail me at cor2nir@aol.com
thanks
