Default dropping tranny for the first time, axles?

how the hell do you get the axles out of the way? dropping the tranny to replace the clutch. we were previously going by c-speed's how-to but its just not working.

any helps?

done, from 10:30 till 11:55, bfh used, still no luck. all the bolts, etc that hold that **** together are gone

retard.

take the drivers side out first, you can use a 2x4 and hammer it against the axle (edit: not the axle but the CV joint, the metal side of the joint facing the center of the car) to seperate the halfshaft from the intermediate shaft. remove the intermediate shaft and insert a screwdriver into the diff until it's against the other axle and hit the screwdriver with a mini-sledge or other BFH.

technically I guess you could just remove the 3 bolts for the int. shaft carrier bearing and pull it out with the halfshaft installed but never tried that except when the axle nut was removed and the axle was removed from the hub already..

when i remove the driveshaft from the drivers side, i take it down the intermediate shaft with the halfshaft still intact, it works every time. just remove the three bolts like fyrstarter said, and drop everything as one. goodluck, i hope you do not break the seal in the boots
