Default NEED ADVICE: Going back to Stock Intake for B16

well my car is loud as hell on the freeway over 4000 RPMs, so i'm thinking of going back to a stock intake (currently using the AEM CAI)... really its unbrearable at time and i drive the freeway a lot... so..

1. do you think this will help reduce the loudness?

2. does anyone have a stock instake from a JDM 16 CRX or Civic?

3. what other stock intakes will fit? I'm thinking from a Del Sol or Civic Si and modify that to fit my engine bay...

Thanks,
Brian

you could just go to a short ram. But why hinder performance by going back to stock?

you'll always get that wonderously loud sexy growl if your intake isn't hooked upto the resonator, you could always test things out with making a cheap cai with a hole to stick a tube to connect to the resonator. Kinda the best of both worlds....to tell you the truth i was very suprised at the change in tone, its mostly at 1/2 ot through wot for me though

on my old ed6 i used a combination of a Integra XSI intake tube, with a stock ED6 airbox. I had to cut about 3-4 inches off of the arm that comes out of the airbox, but once i did that it worked fine. Then I took the bottom half of the airbox, and gutted it. Had a nice growl to it that was only apparent at WOT, and was totally sedate otherwise. hth

I also use my stock air box with my b16a. I have the same setup as Count Blah. Stock air box(crx) with a k&n drop in, with the bottom half of the box cut. I am also using a JDM xsi intake pipe. It was the same size as my aem, and it feels just as good, and the best part is that it looks factory. With that, and my factory heat shield over my dc header, I am super low profile. If you want it quieter, you could attach the resinator to the air box, but that would hurt your performance. I say get a quieter exhaust, if you have a loud one. Ryan
PS, the xsi intake pipe is bigger than a US teg one.

if you relocate your battery you can use a 92-95 si airbox and a 94up ls tube . mine worked perfect
