Default HF struts Vs. Si Struts...

Are there any difference in the two?

Si struts have some kind of gas in them, HFs don't. I don't think they do anyway, and if they do, it's not the same kind. The manual says you have to get the gas out of the Si struts before you trash 'em.

There may have been a minor diff in the stock OE shocks between the two but the difference was almost nothing if there is any. Both used twin tube low pressure gas design shocks from stock which is most of what you'll find around for the CRXs. Bilstein offers a mono-tube high pressure gas but that is the only one I can think of. For functional use, there is little difference between the two designs as far as the car is concerned and the bigger difference is the quality and design differences between the brands.

All aftermarket replacement and performance shocks use the same parts for all models and make no differentiation between HF, DX and Si.

Oh and they are actually shocks and not struts on these cars by the way. The 84-87 cars and the 2001+ have front struts and rear shocks but the a-arm wishbone suspension cars actually do have shocks even though most people use the wrong word. Not a biggie in the grand scheme of things.
