Default Mugen HIGH COMPRESSION head gasket

Anyone installed this gasket ? I am installing it on an European ITR 11.1:1
From what mugen says , it would be 0.4 higher , so that would make 11.5:1
So what would be the difference in throttle responce ? I am also installing Skunk2 stage 2 Camshafts , did any one tried this ? We're also intalling a T/B 70MM and edlebrock intake manifold , spoon header and full exhaust line and take out the catalytic converter. I will be installed next week , WHAT CAN I EXPECT ?

Let me know your experiance.

regards

Douglas

I've actually just done a search on this because I am going to put a mugen head gasket on mine. Upping the compression with as agressive cams as Skunk stage 2s should be really good. When going NA compression is probably the biggest factor in improving performance. When you installed it...if you have...did you have to mill teh head? To surface it I mean...are Honda OEM gaskets metal? Would I have a problem if they are not (because Mugen is metal)?

Mill the head or go with higher compression pistons..use a honda head gasket.

Edlebrock IM? Is that piece really and improvement over the stocker? Just curious,I just thought the stock piece was very good.

The JG IM flows a lot better after 7k rpms. It is a very top-end oriented piece. I have not heard any bad comments about them.

It totally depends on your fuel management/tuning.

You will not be able to tell the difference with 0.4 pts of compression. It will help - but the effects won't be noticeable by you.

I don't understand how the Mugen head gasket can up the compression by 0.4. The spoon gasket is actually thinner and is suposed to raise it by 0.3. And even then they say that it depends on the mods that have been done to the motor. I have just purchased the spoon one myself. The #'s on the gaskets- Spoon 0.45mm Mugen 0.47mm. The differance is very little so its your decesion. Still a nice little bump to the compression.

For an NA motor, its worthless IMO, might as well go with ITBs if you are out-flowing the ITR manifold.
