Well Hey whats up? im from Honda-acura.net and i heard this board is pretty good for tech Qs!

1. well first off i wanna know how to remove my passenger side door pillar ( where you mount gauge pods ) ?
2. Throw out bearing is shot i think, loud clashing noise made when i push in the clutch..whats the best clutch to get? oem? clutch masters?? looking to spend $200 + not over $350...

I think you should get an act. ACT's have always worked out for me. Your car looks good. on the armrest. if you dont want it, slang it this way.

 

i also have 2 other questions....

1. i don't think my cooling fans come on...how can i check to see if they work, and how do i fix them if they dont come on?
2. the other day i turned into park (right side somewhere) and i heard this loud metal bending type of noise?!!! what could that have been..btw it was nothing dragging

 

when you were turning, was it clicking? use another analogy other than hearing a bending sound.

 

no like a dragging, bending metal sounds exactly, almost like my muffler fell off and it was stuck between my car and the gorund

 

-On the pillar removal, just tug on it. It is only held on by clips.
-If I were you, I would get an oem replacement clutch cause you really dont need anything more. My brother got Exedy oem replacement clutch from clutchcityonline.com for $100 shipped. It is a kit so it comes with the throwout bearing and alignment tool also.

Really the only way to check the cooling fan is to let the car run until it gets hot. The fan should cut on when the car gets to about 200 degrees. put a multimeter on the wires coming to the fan motor when it gets hot to see if there is power going to the motor. if there is 12 volts present, change the fan motor. If not, look behind the motor where the oil filter is located. there is a small plug next to the filter where the block temp sensor it. make sure it is plugged in. if it is not plugged in or faulty, the fan will not cut on.

BTW nice rex. I am looking for a A/C-heater control panel and i see you have an intact one. if you ever feel the need to get rid of it let me know......

still having trouble with this pillar, how did you all get yours off??!! Exedy clutchs they any good!!?

 

you might need to pull the headliner some to get the pillar completely off. did you get any of the clips out?

 

Excedy makes great stock like clutchs..I thnk they actually make the stock clutch..
and they hold fine on a stock motor...

 

i like the exedy clutch kit...those are nice as well.

 

I have an Exedy in my rex with my b-series swap and I like it a lot, pedal feel is good and it engages nice and smooth, wich I like.

 

just ordered a clutch exedy from clutchcity...$110 shipped.

got my gauge in now i gotta wire it, but its snowing

 

btw how much did you get your rex for??? its in reeeeally nice shape in case you didnt kno lol
