Default Fuel Filter

Cruising for around 20 minutes at 70MPH down the interstate in my 1993 Accord Automatic, and without any notice whatsoever, it died (like I turned the ignition switch off), and then returned cruising normally like nothing happened (no hesitation whatsoever), after about 3 to 5 seconds. About 10 minutes later, driving through a residential area about 30 MPH, it died again and wouldn't start. I tried about 10 times to start it, and it would turn over strong, but wouldn't fire. I had about a quarter of a tank of gas, and the outdoor temperature was around 75. I removed the gas cap, and got a pretty good "whoosh" from a pressure build-up. I tried starting again about 5 times, and it wouldn't fire. I never smelled any gas, like it was flooded. I bounced the car up and down, in case the tank had something blocking the fuel line. Tried again to start and nothing. Sat waiting for a tow truck, 15 minutes have lapsed now ... tried starting, and it fired right up! I filled the tank and in the past two days, it has never reoccurred. Any ideas what happened are appreciated.

isn't the f-filter in the back right corner near the bottom? I think thats right, its a nice little black canister. If all alse fails, follow your fuel line from the fuel rail down to it.

sounds like a bad fuel pump to me...the same thing happened to my dad's truck a while back...in my 4g accord the filter is on the firewall towards the left side of the engine...get a cheap repair manual and you will know for sure

EDIT: sorry, I dont know what the hell that is, but its probably not your filter, mine would fire up, then die sometimes. then not start at all, but if I let it rest for a few it was ready to go. It could possibly be a relay of some kind, but I really dont know

Thanks SOHCMAN. No wonder I couldn't find it! It was hidden on the passenger side firewall (down about a foot) underneath the Programmable FI box. Black round canister size and shape of a cup cake.

the not starting could be from the main relay. IT sticks sometimes, and then other times its fine. ESP in 4g accords for some reason.

I have this problem in the summertime.
