I hope to buy a CRX, any help is appreciated!
get an si, my first rex was dx and automatic, it was so slow, i had cheap intake ghetto exhaust, buddy club kit that i rush to put on and it look crappy, cheap paint, crappy racing seats. now i have an red si with 1 blue fender and i love it, alot faster and easier to do b16 swap. my advice when build a project take ur time and do it right u will appreciate alot better
what should i look for when buying?
OH as for things to look for look and make sure that its a straight body (all panels line up correctly) and check out the rear wheel wells for rust and also pop open the gas door and look for rust in there as well. If your not planning a motor swap look for leaks and for burning fluids. Make sure there is no unusual noises and things like that.

Depends on where you want to go with the car..
If you want to Truly be fast you won't get an SI...
you would look for a 88 hf, its the lightest, and its just as easy to drop an SI motor into it. It would take more work..but but in the end be lighter, and as a result be faster.
Things to look for..
Rust usually starts in the rear fender wells.
Frame damage body lines that don't match are a dead give away.
rusted sunroof if you get an si
Leaking oil, check the block and the bottom of the car..

hey thanks for all of the really useful info. i was also curious as to what the most benefical motor swap would be (best power for the $$)?
IM 50shotrex. He has plenty of people to vouch for. He sells on honda tech all the time. He has a 90 HF for around $1300. Hopefully, it'll be what you're looking for.

he is looking for a fast motor so i'm thinking si for less wiring like said...how hard is it to put a b18c1 in a rex or a b18c5? or would you reomend b18b-t? keep um coming i know this is useful for him
yeah it is!! I have around 2500-3000 that i can work with. But i do like the idea of a ls/vtec, how much does that sort of thing cost.

(Sorry, I'm a SOHC guy

i was wondering if the sohc engines can take large mods like turbo and other go-fast mods? Not for shur but dont the Si models come with a 1.6, 16 valve sohc 4-cyl. And if so is this a motor that can handle a turbo kit? THANKS
yeah the si has the 1.6 16 valve motor, aka D16A6. you can put turbos on those motors and you can also build the engine for NA. they can be very fast(with money, but that goes for any honda)
i would try and get an Si if i were you, just because they have sunroof and the other little goodies. unless you're going to be at the track a lot, then get an HF for the lightness. anyway you go though the CRX rules!!!
