Default ls/vtec with gsr head?

I have a 95 gsr and would like to build a killer ls/vtec. why do most people build with the b16? does it yield a higher cr? any suggestions on internals? what is a good cam for it? i am looking to build something borderline streetable that will still run on 93 octane

Why would you want to build an ls/vtec if u already have a killer gsr?You cant beat the reliability of a honda built motor
b16 is cheaper then the b18 head but doesnt flow as well. You should probably get new rods and pistons depending on your setup. As long as your compression isnt like 13:1 you probably could run 93

from what i know some people usually choose the b16a head because an ITR intake manifold bolts right up as opposed to buying the skunk2 for a gsr.
But GSR head is a little stronger, so just depends on your preference

I think its because the B16a and B18c5 heads are easier to get than a B18c1......

supposedly b18 heads can leak...i have a b16, also b16 and type r are the same head...intake manifold selection is better with b16..cheaper, easier to get, use Skunk 2 cams...any setup can be used as long as CR is lower than 12.5:1
ill have building now a bored stroked 2.18 L lsvtec on 12.5 comp. with 93 oct and itll be fine
