Default perfect anti-car theft device

I was on a site that sells weird things like spy gadgets and they happen to sell a device in which you hide a button under your dash and only you know where it is located, and you must push it when turning on your car and if the button is not pushed the car will stall after driving three blocks. the web site is http://www.spystuff.com
just click on the personal/property protection.

you could also just make your own kill switch out of a small hidden switch, some wire, a relay, solder, etc...

do a search for "kill switch" or "fuel cut off" there have been many threads discussing this...

Well, there are plenty of things that can make the car not start. But what are you gonna do when the gut it right where it sits or tow that ****?

I asked this but no one responded. Is it possible to use a boot (the ones they use in repeat traffic violation) to prevent theifs frmo even from towing the car?

nope. Make it look like a legitimate tow.

and a stalling car... that could be potentially extremely dangerous

There are plenty of ways to do this for about $6 with radio shack parts. A $2 relay, a $2 switch and $2 of wire. There are a million places to put it, I won't give mine away but I'll give you a clue... you can look right where it is and not see it.

Your car can be taken in 30 Sec. with a towtruck. The drivers can jack it up and put little dollies under the wheels to maneuver it out of a tight space for towing purposes. I don't know what would stop it other than denying towtruck access to the car.

no matter how good of security system you have on it if someone else wants it worse than you do, they will get it one way or another.

Thanks for the wise conclusion. Have you ever heard of a theft "deterrent?" It won't stop all thieves, but it's better to slow them down as much as possible. Why not leave your keys in your ignition and tie a bow on your car and say here, take me.

lo-jack really does kick a$$. But once again just a deterrent. The best thing about a security system is the little led that tells the "honest" would be thief to think twice about this car.

My Clifford alarm has a feature much like this, although I don't have to push a button once. I have to enter the equivalent of a numeric code on two buttons on my dash.

These things are all really nice but if someone really wants it they can figure out a way to get it.
