Default spoon cams

Just chasing after info on spoon camshafts. What are the advantages over stock ITR camshafts? Also if anyone has a spoon head (i.e. valves, valve springs and cam gears and cams) what are they Rev limiting to ? Is 9100 rpm ok?

There's no point in buying Spoon valves.

Also if you want mild cams, get Toda Spec A's.

The Spoon cams aren't worth the time and effort.

Spoon cams has more duration and lift over ITR cams which is more mid-high rpm power. It doesn't require valvetrain upgrades and no problem revving to 9k. Spoon cams are not made for big power gains (lot less stress to valvetrain/timing belt), they try to increase the driveability and to remain the longivity of the engine.Leading the max. potential of the B18C5 with having other stock components in the ITR.

Best results, Spoon cams + gears and reprogrammed ECU or Hondata.

Good luck

You'd get more bang for the buck if you bought a JUN 2 intake cam.

That's what I was thinking... assuming you have a ITR.

Thanks guys... much appreciated...

I was just considering upgrading my spoon cams to toda spec B. Where can I find detailed info about the spoon cam i.e. spec sheets to dial in the cams? Would love to do a comparison to Toda B's.

Way back in the day Mike K tried a JUN II intake cam / ITR exhaust cam combo with pretty good results.. I think you can still find the thread in the archive.

Stock ITR cams
INTAKE lift - 11.5 mm, duration 243 @1mm
EXHAUST lift - 10.5mm, duration 235 @1mm

Jun II specs
INTAKE lift - 12.0 mm, duration 267 @ 1mm
EXHAUST lift - 10.9 mm, duration 265 @ 1mm

Spoon cam specs
INTAKE lift - 11.53 mm, duration 256 @1mm
EXHAUST lift - 11.13 mm, duration 245 @1mm

Toda B specs
INTAKE lift - 12 mm, duration 255 @1mm
EXHAUST lift - 12mm, duration 245 @1mm

Cam specs taken from http://www.team-integra.net

The Jun 2 and Spoon cams are in the same boat in terms of their cam specs and gains that you will see. The Toda B's are in a totally different ball park, your going to have to do extensive work in order to run the B's properly. The spoon/jun cams are good for a little over 200whp with a 8500 redline. The B's are good for 220 whp with a 9000 redline.
