I just got my jg header modded to 2.5 inch by IMPORT BUILDERS. And it looks really good. They did an awesome job, gotta give it up to Jeff and the crew. Check it out.

those welds suck you could have just went to a muffler shop who would have done a better job. Your header might leak sometime down the road because of those welds. Why would it leak if you ask: because those welds look like spot welds, and between them there isn't that much material which will corode and make little holes in your header.

again, it might not leak now but later down the road.


I'm an experienced welder by the way, and just giving my thoughts.

Hey bro nice deal...although i dont know about welding but thats exactly what i want. Where did you pick up your Jg header at? And for how much?
And how much did Jeff charge? Also did you pick up your 2.5 collector or did you buy it from them? Have you put it on your car yet and if so have you noticed a diffrence from what you had before?

ill have to agree with tnbigdawg thoes welds look like crap, im surprised a company like IB would send out products with this type of quality

 

agreed. The owner of the header probley could have done the same welds.

Jerry can weld pretty good, they are not spot welds, thats a MILLER TIG welder. The weld is thick because the mild steel is thick.

You can cry about the welding, but its overall a good clean piece. Nobody has ever complained about it.

And the dyno...well.. You can call it whatever you want, but when it makes the power. All the tears go away!

We can all weld here, but Jerry is the best. Its not expensive, so don't worry. I think its like $80 or so, with the flange, the bung, the pipe, the welding and the cutting with coating.

Not bad at all. But I understand where your coming from. SMSP and Hytech have it golden in the welding dept.
