I have an 87 prelude wit a stock 2.0si SOHC engine....I want to know if anyone knows if a 91 DOHC engine will drop right in???......Is there any engine that will fit with not too much effort and money??.....any info you have on 87 prelude engine swaps will help!!!

 

It won't be a direct swap, the motor mounts are set up differently. I would try to find a JDM B20A that came out of an 86-87 Prelude or 86-89 Accord. Even though this is the same engine code for a 3rd gen, it is a little different.

 

Where can I get one of those engines and about how much am I looking at???does it come with the tranny or will mine bolt up and what about the ECU.... Has anyone else ever swapped out the SOHC 87 engine and put another engine in succesfully....I dont want to have to cut my frame for it to fit....help me out

place racing sells the new mounts for a 2nd gen Prelude to fit a b-series engine...the JDM b20 will also need a different tranny than the A20 tranny...
