new bearing = new hub?
i have to replace my d.s. wheel bearing and im not sure if i should go ahead and replace the hub as well. since they are separate components i figure the hub should be fine, but then again mybe not. its a $115 piece and i sure could afford not to buy it. So what do you guys think?
for most honda cars, the hub and bearing are one piece. I am not sure what year accord you have. I just got mine replaced on a 00 Accord. The part was $100 from dealer. You can get the part at hondaautomotiveparts.com for $70 or so.
yeah, i replaced mine already when i first did my swap, but i didnt get custom axles made that i needed a long time a go so my bearing is fucked..so is it necessary for me to replace the hub as well, or is it a-g?
im wondering that too, does the hub need to be replaced? or can just the bearings be replaced?
i mean 115 bux is 115 bux, ya kno?

No, you don't need to replace your hub unless you did something that could have damaged it. Otherwise, you don't normally need to replace your hub. You do need a press to press the old bearing off a the new one on. What year Accord is this for anyway?
When I did my brake job I bought new bearings as well. I took everything to a machine shop and had them take everything apart and press it all together. I had a 95 with hub-over-rotor and it's a PITA to do. So thats why I paid a shop 25 a side to do mine. Anyways, when the bearings were replaced I just had the same hubs pressed into the new bearings and the hub face turned so the rotor would mount nice and clean to it.

I got them pulled off/pressed on too. It would have been easy to DIY, except for that damn inner race of the bearing. I used a claw puller to get most of the bearing off, but the inner race sits flush to the hub, so there is no place to wedge a tool to get it off. Drilling the race is out of question, that steel is harder than my drill bits
I've no idea what the guy in the shop did to pull it...

there is a tool used to get under that inner race. Look in the Helms manual and it shows you what it looks like and how to use it. But to use it you need a press.
