Last night while I was doing my Koni install, my 1/2" driver started sticking and jamming up. Now, I know Craftsman has a lifetime warranty on it's ratchets but how do I go about getting a replacement? Do I just walk into Sears and they give me a replacement or do I have to send it in somewhere? Any input?
As far as I know, you go to Sears, show them the broken Craftsmen tool and they give you a new one. I don't think you need the receipt either. I have never broken any of my Craftsmen tools though
yup walk in, toss it on the counter, they get you a new one, actually crafty started handing out rebuilt ones. but who cares, when it breaks you just bring it back anyway.

I'll have to go get me a new/rebuilt wrench during my lunch break then. Thanks alot guys!
I believe they have slightly changed their policy. It used to be that you could walk in with any Craftsman tool and receive an equivalent for free. I think you have to go in the store and fill out a form, mail that form to Craftsman, and wait a week for a new tool.
Talk to the Tools manager about it. I had two craftsmen ratchets fail on me, when I went to return the second one, I told the manager about it and he allowed me to "upgrade" to the polished version, no charge.

Update: Went to Sears and they just took the broken one and handed me a refurbised one. No hassles at all.

yeah everytime I've broken anything.. I just walk into sears and show the cashier or whoevers working in the tool dept the broken tool and they just grab me a new one w/o any problems or questions..
i notice my 3/8" starts to jam up somethimes, its not bad, but can get annoying when im trying to tighten a nut that is pretty loose. will they let me exchange? even those its still in working order?
just tell them that.. they shouldn't have a problem exchanging it.. the warranty says something like if for any reason your not satisfied w/ this tool bring it back or something... so far the stores I've been to were cool about exchanging tools that are still operable but not in the best working order...
Yup, you don't need a receipt for any defective craftsman tool at Sears. I had a stripped 3/8 ratchet, walked in Sears, told them it's no good, no question asked and they gave me a new(refurbished) one. Craftsman tool IMO are among the best im the market and their lifetime no hassle exhange policy can't be beat.

You know that screwdriver handle that comes with all the kits? The one you put the little bits in? Well I used it as a punch and the bits wouldnt fit anymore, I took it to sears, and they didnt have any of those, so they just gave me a racheting screwdriver instead!!! That was cool.
