There would be a slight possibility that it will dude to the pressure plate not fully releasing the clutch, thus you are basicaly trying to shift with out using your clutch.

If the pressure plate is not engaging the clutch all the way or the flywheel is worn down too much, those are both contributors to grinding gears.

But the major factor is bad driving.

BM Syncromesh. Go buy it and replace your fluid, should help a lot. Be ready to fork out some $$ however!

If your syncros are just beginning to go bad, it may seem as though the clutch is not engaging fully due to the fact that the gears only grind slightly.

How is it grinding, when you first put it into gear or at the engaement point? What's the severity level of the grinding?

D is right.

There is nothing wrong with Honda syncros.

None of my B series cars have a problem with syncros.

I would have to agree. I have 110k miles on my tranny and no bad syncros yet. I change my tranny fluid every 10-15k, so that mught help. There is nothing wrong with Honda syncros.

A weak pressure plate could cause grinding yes ..a while back a friend misshifted(b/c he cant drive for his life) and he told me that he was having trouble getting into gears ( so i thought, you just cant drive for your life) so i went to drive his car and he was right... I pulled the tranny and the pressure plate had cracked, so i put in a CM clutch and it was fixed.

So for people that have miss shifted badly , and have been having problems with shifting , check the clutch for damage. AND LEARN TO DRIVE.
