What mods and brands would you suggest?

The dealer was talking to him about a venom400 or 4000(cant remember) chip for his car, but from fooling around with other cars, I know these chips are a waste of plastic unless it is custom made AND you have a good amount of mods.

Gimme some feedback if you will. Thanks.

Well...depends on how much money he has to spend. But, in general, I would go with a Hondata reflash, then springs, and new rims and tires. After all that, then intake, headers, and exhaust. But Hondata is the best engine mod bang for the buck, other than nitrous, but I wouldn't throw nitrous on a brand new car. The car stock, looks like a 4x4, so thats why I said springs should be the next mod. Last, the stock tires are crap, so an upgrade is needed. Tell him to check out ephatch.com, they should answer all his ?'s.

Very good. Im assuming the hondata reprograms the stock computer? Or is it a chip that reprograms? Is it something you buy, or do you go to a shop to have it performed?

Sorry for not clearing the whole n02 + hondata issue in my previous post. Pax is right about that fact. Either get Hondata or n02, but not both, because they are not "compatable" with each other. To get Hondata, you must send your ecu to them and they will reflash it with their program. Now that they have tuned the program, people are getting some very good results w/it. Call up Hondata and ask for Doug. He will fill you in...

Wow, I was confused at first...Im so used to a lot of import boards referring to N02 as NOS that I didnt know what NO2 was for a second!

Okay, so Hondata makes a program for nitrous(for other years of civics), supercharged and naturally aspirated?

Does any company make a add on chip that you dont have to be without your car for a week or so while you send off the computer?

the Hondata program isn't just a chip. from what i understand, the new Honda ECU's actually use a variation of Flash, & that's why they refer to it as "flashing" or "reflashing". the ECU actually has to be reprogrammed. theres not just a replacement "chip" that you swap out. from what i can remember the new Honda ECU technology uses 4 dimensional air/fuel curves, so it's not as easy as it once was.

also, they FedEx it nextday to you, so your out of your car two days.

Damn, getting to advanced now a days. On my mustang I can get a chip that controls everything, or plug a laptop in the port to see and control everything...why they want to do us bad like dat??? heh

That does sound good though.

K20A3's do very well with basic breather mods. You can gain 15-20whp from bolt-on's. Hondata is also a great mod mostly for its redline increase.
