Default JSP CF hood quality. Questionable? *Big picture warning*

I drive 1.6 EL and until today I thought VIS is the only one that has CF hood for my car. I went to the autoshow today and they had JSP section and found out they have it for my car too.

I looked closely and it didn't impress me that much. I'm not that familier with CF hood but so can't really compare with other brands.

- Not like VIS it didn't have holes for the windshield washer nozzles.

-The edges weren't rolled up.

-There was a some glue like spots I could actually feel

-I don't know it's an alignment problem but one side had much wider gap than the other and it doesn't seem like the other side is too close to the fender either. Did they make the hood too small?

The front lip it had wasn't sitting right. There was a huge gap on the side and wasn't flush to the wheelwel(spell?)

Does anyone have VIS hood close up pictures?

Seems like you pretty much made up your mind about their products. As far as it not fitting perfect, that's normal, carbon fiber and fiberglass parts don't always fit as good as stock ones.

I haven't seen VIS hood for my car in person and it could be 10~20% more expensive than JSP because I don't know if I can buy VIS hood in Canada(shipping+brokage+duties).

first off, i do not own a carbon-fiber hood and have owned one in the past.
now, was the car and actual 1.6EL? it may be a civic with a modified front end EL. since you discovered that the company JSP manufactured or sold cf hoods for EL's did you by any chance ask their representatives about fitment problems as you saw them there at the show? if JSP just developed the cf hood for this show to promote you must keep in mind it may be a prototype. hence, why there are so many imperfections as you stated below. make a few phone calls and inquire before you make a decision. and if you have had made a decision already...good for you.

It wasn't a real EL. ELs are 4 door.

As soon as I said to the guy

Me:"oh, I thought VIS was the only one who makes cf hood for EL"

Him:"we make them, ours are the best quality, look at the back"

Me:silence(thinks, the back is shiny)

Maybe I'll mail them.
