Default Broken studs on a 98 gsr

Above pic is just an example.
(i know its not the gsr, it from my 1.5)

The stud which is on the second row, far left. That stud is broken.
I was trying to install DC 4-2-1 header as i was tightening the stud, i heard a snap,
and the dam stud came in my hand.

Any advice what to do now ??

Asad bhai feel free to edit the post.

I have a hunch that i have to remove the head, all of the internals, from the head.

Than take it to the machine shop, and they should compress should compress it in there.

ok he posted this for me.... on the GSR you have two studs on the corners and than bolts for the rest of holes. the stud which broke is the on the side..... not the bolt.
can this be pulled out without removing the head???

Easiest way might be to just use a pair of vice grips and twist it out.

If it's too tight for the vice grips, use an EZout. But, you'll almost certainly have to remove the head to get enough room to work.

Please re-read what I posted above.

I've seen exhaust manifolds missing that stud and they still sealed just fine. Can't promise you anything tho. Don't try to overtighten the other bolts to compensate tho if you choose to forego putting in a new stud...you'll just get yourself into more trouble.

if part of the broken stud is exposed, screw two nuts onto the expeosed area, then try to unscrew the stud with an open wrench using the nut closer to the head. this should cause the nuts to lock and act as the head of the stud. the stud should come out with no problem

Really, the first question I should have asked is where did it break off at?

Same stud broke on my car when I was removing the manifold so I could get the inner heat shield off. That was almost a year ago and I have no exhaust leaks. That same stud breaks on most Integras when a header installation is done.

If you're really intent on getting it out w/o removing the head you could probably remove the front bumper and radiator and fans in order to get a drill bit and screw extractor in there.
