Default For those with OBDII to OBDI conversions

I just put in an OBDII to OBDI conversion harness with a P28 ECU into my D16Y8. The problem is, I get a CEL number 9, cylinder position sensor. Is this normal? If it is, how do I get rid of it? Or do I have a defective ECU or harness?

Ok edit: The CEL was actually a number 19, my fault. Code 19: Lock-up Control Solenoid Open or short in LCS circuit, defective LCS solenoid. We took apart the ECU and it looks virgin. I put it into my friend's car and he got the CEL too. Anyone know how I can fix it?

Hahaha, guess what? You're right. Turns out the part number on my ECU reads:

37820-p28-A52

I was told it's an automatic ECU. A "1" instead of "5" would be a manual.

What is the part number on your ECU? 37820-P28-XXX. I need to know the XXX part. Sounds like you have an auto ECU. Its pretty easy to change to manual though.

Yes but more expensive. They go for around $125, and to send it in to switch it to a manual is a lot less than that. I don't think I can find anyone who wants an auto ECU.

Check with B18C-EJ1 on this board. He sells P28's and does programming of them. He was quick to reply to questions from me.
