... acl bearings... who has installed?
Umm, no. You shouldnt need to have any bearing that is specifically made for any motor machined AT ALL.
I think your somehow confusing how your supposed to check clearance with the physical size of the bearings themselves. If this is what your getting at then you will need to go with OEM bearings that you can mix and match sizes, or colors as they come from honda.
ACL bearings only come in a one size fits all application. If they dont come out to being within factory spec then you can mix in one honda oem bearing to get the proper size needed.
Just to give you a little insight, my ACL bearings came within spec when I built my new motor, so they get
from me. Contact Earl on this board for purchasing.

ya, we installed them on my motor as well. i was kinda sceptical with it being one size fits all, but all the clearences came up good for all the bearings.

This still floors me.
I started with all greens (old) and to get into all the specs I ended up with 3 blacks, 6 browns and a green.
ACL's cant make up that much difference.

im running acl bearings and i just recently checked them at 1k miles. still looks great. all bearings were in spec, pretty much right in the middle of the chart. id say theyre close to greens and yellows. so yes, i think theyre worth it, $100 for a full set vs ~200+
