i heard on the dseries board of people getting A6 regrinds from www.deltacam.com for like $95. anybody have any experience with them or their cams?
They are like 70 bucks for a regrind.. I had mine done like 4 years ago for 50 bucks on my a6. They are pretty helpful guys. Located about 45mins from my house.
I noticed a pretty decent gain on my old a6. But then agian, at the same time I did port the head.

yeh i heard mostly about regrinds for old chevy v8's..back when i was in to that...I always heard good things about them..Back in like 98 I was gonna order a cam from them for my d16a6. .
i just put one in today on a d15b2, specs were like .420 inch lift on intake and exhaulst and 244 advertised duration on both sides too. something like that....neways i found it pretty quick for a dpfi car, power dont drop off either, mpfi goes in next week. so far i think its some good stuff i might get one for my car later on, it was like 60 bucks and 30 to ship.
So do they have set specs for cams...or do we tell them what specs or what's the deal here??? I don't see them advertising Honda cams on there...but god I love that price...
they can do basically any cam from what ive heard....some cams they dont have cores for and need a core first like in my case which is why i havent gotten one done yet but if they have one there its a 3 day turn around i think

i just called them and they have 2 grinds for the a6 cam. the 260 profile and the 272 profile. the 260 was for a little more street power. the 272 works better with add ons...ie i/h/e. they said that the 272 profile has 0.425 lift and 272 duration for both int. and exh. and again $65 plus shipping. but i have to send my extra cam to them. so im guessing about $100-110 all together.
do you think that the 272 will idle good? its got more lift and duration than a gude cam! he said that it was more of a street/race cam.
also i was gonna get the head milled to bump compression to like 9.8:1. but that is a huge lift so i don't know how much to mill (with a Y8 head gasket). any guesses?
I went with the 260 cam from Delta. I'm very happy with it. It makes very good power starting around 3,500 - 4,000 depending on cam timing. The idle is a but rough, but my crx is not daily driven so its not an issue. Overall I love it and would do it again. I paid $85 plus shipping.

they had it done and shipped back to me the day they got it. i got the 260 too. my idle is just a touch rough, but i dont know if thats from the cam or:
y8 intake manifold with b18a TB
ported head
no coolant to TB or EACV
0.004 in & 0.005 ex valve lash
plus i can only get my idle down to about 875-925rpm.
it seems to make good power though. they also have the 272 profile...which is what they recommended for me. they say the 260 is just a replacement for stock but it seems good to me. you can always get both for less than the price of other regrinds. id love to dyno it but the closest chassis dyno i can find is like 2.5 hours away. new york sucks!

anybody know the lift on the 260 profile? and i have a 88 dx with d16a6 w\ intake, adjustable camgear, chip, header, exhaust, mild ported head, and fpr, what delta cam do you guys think would be better or actually make more power? i don't care about idle or emissions. can i run the 270 on stock springs? gude says stock springs are better with almost all of there cams
i've got the 272 and i believe that both the 260 and 272 for the d16a6 is .50... i'm not sure tho.
however my idle is pretty good for having a cam of this size. power is up across the board but it comes in really nice over 4000 rpm. it's almost like vtec, which alot of my friends think i've swapped in a vtec head, but there's no audiable click or change in engine noise... it just starts pulling like hell.

260 dur and .400 lift
272 dur and .425 lift
here check out my cam specs thread - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=427814
the 272 would probably make more peak power...but you dont want a cam that makes power up to 8k cause your limited by the stock rev limit. but i dont know what it will do...i was thinking about getting one of those new g-tech meters cause there are no chassis dynos around here.
i would say you can run the 272 on stock springs as long as you keep the stock rev limit...but you can always call delta and ask.
