Default Car will not start, just cranks - problem resolved

Posting this primarily for those searching or may have this problem in the future.

I got in my 91 CRX yesterday morning, tried to start it, it stumbled and died. Then when trying to start it, it would just crank but not start. The crank sounded funny..almost too fast, like a broken timing belt, or when cranking during a compression test.

I had spark. Had fuel. Had new main relay. Did a compression test. 125 - 100 -75 -75. Bad numbers. I was near 125 in all cylinders not long ago (d16 125k).

Here is what happened.. Cylinders were "washed out".. or flooded. I had completely forgotten that I had started the car 2 days earlier and drove it 10 feet then shut off. Due to the cold weather, a bunch of raw fuel was dumped into the cylinders and washed all the oil out of the rings in 2 or 3 of the four cylinders. Due to the wear of the engine, and the lack of oil, the compression tested very low.

Here is the solution. Get in the car while off, and floor the gas. Crank the car until it stumbles, chokes and starts. It might take a while. Hold the revs near 4000 for a bit..then back down and let it run. Voila.

BTW. If it doesnt want to start, have a friend pinch the fuel line nearly closed with some pliers. As it stumbles and tries to start, let off with the pliers slowly.

Thanks to John a Honda tech at Manchester Honda for the help... saved me yet again.
