it has come to my attention that there has been a lot of hatchbacks that's been stolen the past couple of months now. it's not only hatchbacks; coupes have been jacked and stripped. case in point, the Area51 hatchback with a swap was jacked in broad daylight (IN IRVINE, SOCAL) while the owner was out in a test drive with this supposed buyer. another case was this other member here who works at an electronics store. he gets out of work, his hatch was gone.
then i see posts like this one:

asking people for pix of their rides. the member has like 45 posts...come on now? how can we trust members like that who asks for pix of our rides? i don't know.
maybe i'm paranoid but i say we should try to control our urge to post pics of our rides and motors until this whole thing blows over. that's just my .02...flame away...

Well man, U might just be right. I am not posting pics to anybody. I will be keeping on the down low and ultra sleeper mode.

i dont really worry to much about my motor.....its an LS, and from what i see around here the only motors getting jacked are DOHCVTEC.... one reason why i went LS. they dont want to waste their time with a motor they cant sell

 

they won't win...not against my 9mm beretta and my .38 special under the seats...god...please oh please try to steal my ride!!!!!!! i'd like to see your sorry *** bleeding before i cap your knees!!!!!! i seriously can't wait for someone to try something with my ride...i'll make sure to take pics of the fawkers before and after i put 'em down...

most of them were from last year. point is, be careful about your ride and where you take her. oh yeah...the list doesn't include the GSR's and ITR's...just civics.

I'm aware of the problem we have here on honda tech with cars being stolen. There's a thread about a car being stolen at least every other day. I haven't posted pictures of my car because I feel she's not done yet. I'm not paranoid either. I see it like this. Thieves are going to take your car no matter what you put on it, or if it's a pic posted or what not. With all the honda's rolling around, it's not like they're going to pick out your car and recognize it from honda-tech, not saying that cannot happen. I dunno, you sound paranoid to me. I came to the point where I accept the fact that my car could get taken one day from me, it's just the price we pay for people's jealousy. Let them hate, don't take your car to places where it's going to be out in the open for long (mall, movies, club, etc). Sometimes I don't even drive my car around in the weekends, I use my girl's buick when we go out.

for a long time i was paranoid, i would only drive to work and school, in the safest parking lots and i never posted pics of my ride, wouldnt go to meets in not-so-nice areas...really paranoid.

than i totalled my car about a month ago, and if i could have had a second chance, i would have just ENJOYED the car. So get an alarm, get the autolock, do all you can without spending billions of dollars on security, garage the car every night and dont freak out so much.

This is the main reason I don't post pics of my car and the things I have done to the car in the past 2 years.

There's perhaps thousand scooping out this site(daily) and I'm sure a few pro thiefs on this board.

Ever since I show my car at Nopi, I had over hundreds of people about my car. Most of them compliments and some just asking dumb questions like "what kind of alarm is that", stipud **** like that. I change my screen name a few times cause morons wanna to know where I lived. (well, the last who attempted got shot a few times, you know who it is)

I even turn down a few magazines and performance websites that wanna me to advertised. In the end, its not worth it.

This maybe one of the reason alot of hardcore underground racer keeps their mods to themselves and don't brag about it, like alot of people here on this forum and the "Type-R" *bling bling forum.
