B20 VTEC Block vs. B18C Block: Which one is heavier?
I was wondering about the 2.0L bottom ends, for those of you who have gone 2.0L, does the block add extra weight to the front end?
I know that our cars are already front heavy, so I figure that a bigger displacement block would throw the weight balance off......
Anyone?

I just got two blocks from Golden Eagle. One a B18C5 and the other a B20B4, on the slip it showed the B18 to be 75lbs and and the B20 to be 72lbs. I really don't think there is more than a pound between them.

were either of these blocks fitted with ge sleeves? thats obviously going to throw the weight difference off b.c ge sleeves are much heavier than stock
to answer the original question. the blocks will be almost identical in weight. the b20 block has a larger bore so there is more piston material to increase weight.. but the block doesnt have oil squirters or a main cap girdle so that is a reduction in weight.
stock the b18c weighs more. its a larger casting and has more internal support hardware
once sleeved it will still be a few lbs heavier even if all the saame hardware is
added to the b20 block.
