Default Tuning is good...a dyno plot of running an incorrect ecu vs a tuned Hondata

So I recently traded in my Hondata Stage 2 for the newer Hondata S200, I was lucky enough to have DynoSpot Racing work a deal with me. I had Monday off so I decided to make the drive down to visit the shop about picking up the new Hondata unit and about a possibility of a bolt-in 4 point cromoly rollbar. Since I was there I decided to throw the car on the dyno to see what was going on...

Setup is the same for both runs except the ecu:

Comptech icebox and intake
Mugen headgasket
Hondata intake manifold gasket, street setup
Hondata S200
HyTech header and exhaust, test pipe
toda cam gears +5, +5
Prelude '97+ 290cc/min injectors

Red - stock ecu
Blue - tuned Hondata

As you can guess that I was running quite rich with the stock ecu on the car, lots of black smoke.

Wow that's a big difference, how long did you guys spend tuning to notice that much change?

is there really a huge difference in the stage 2 versus the s200 hondata systems?

The reason why the gain appears so large is becuase I was running really rich with the 290cc/min injectors installed while running off the stock ecu.

It was initially a 1-1.5 hour tuning session...I was only there for the new S200 and since the dyno was open decided to hop on to see how well the car was holding up.

There were no changes from the initial tuning that was done back in November(I think).

The S200 gives you the ability to have vtec turn on via map signal and rpm vs just rpm as in the Stage 2-4, as well as air conditioning cutoff, cold idle fueling, and a few others like some sensors can be disabled, the majority of the gains are for the tuners as there are a lot of changes and benefits for them...I just wanted it for the load based vtec and the air conditioning cutoff.
