HELPPPPPPPPP on JDM conversion
Hey guys I am new here but I was referred here by a friend of mine. I have a question. I am doing a JDM front end conversion to my 94 Ls. Now I want the body work done last, and the motor work done first. And I don't want to have to switch the core support after the intercooler, radiatior,.... and such is mounted. I heard that you do not have to switch the core support and that it can just be cut? I also heard that depending on the body kit that you don't even have to switch anything at all? I have the VIS racing Tracer kit, which looks just like the C-West kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated if you have any experience doing a front end conversion.
Thanks,
Aaron

if by core support you are reffering to the radiator support, well then i dont see any way around replacing it with a jdm one... it is what the headlamps and hoodlatch will directly bolt on to and depending on how your bumper is setup you may also need to mount the bumper to the headlamps which will need to be obviously supported by the radiator support. If you are gonna go thru the trouble of having people work on ur motor and such and install a new radiator and new intercooler.. maybe they could take off the old support(which is held on by spot welds) and have them weld on the new one while they're at it. You say you've heard of people jus cuttin it and gettin away with out replacing it, but i dont see how that would work and look clean. But maybe i'm way wrong.. but except for the welding.. my roomate and i did the bolt on and wiring of the jdm conv.
