Default direct air

I was wondering if theres any positive/negative effect of a tubing going right through the headlight. I have seen alot of integras that did that and i have heard that its a good thing to do. The reason im asking this is because i made a DIY icebox and i mounted the tip in the front where it gets direct air. I also notice the midrange power but the rpm is quite slow on the high end or high speeds. I would think that im losing power on highspeed because if you stick your head out of the window going 90 mph, its interesting that it is harder for you to breathe.

Does anybody have any before and after track times a set up that allows direct air to go straight to the intake?
