I have read most all of the sohc turbo threads and am still wondering if it really matters how many miles are on an engine to determine if it can handle boost
my girls has 165*** and wants to turbo w/o rebuild is it alright????

 

Check your compression and if that is fine you should be ok but i would sugest a rebuild just to be on the safe side

 

if the motor's been taken care of and has good compression, i don't see why not.

 

do a compression check and a leak down check to see how healthy the motor is
a rebuild is recomended but you could prolly get away with somethjing simple like atune up and a valve adjustment would prolly be agood idea too
with goodtunign and a heathly motor it shoudl be good

 

thats a lot of miles for a 92 (at best) i would do what autoxdelsol said, but personally i would just get a bottle of Zex or NOS blow it up, pay 500 bucks and get one with 35000 miles on it. mine has 66000 and its running fine and sexy on 10-12 psi a day without a rebuild. i think miles has a lot to do with it, and how you treat it when you drive
