Speedo meter keeps bobbing up and down
For some reason my speedo meter falls when i drive and then kicks back up. Sometimes its down for a few miles sometimes only a sec. I figured it was the VSS, but i changed the sensor out with one that works. And it still does it some times. So now i'm thinking its a connection problem, anyone have any guess to where it might be at: the cluster, ECU, down at the VSS sensor? I stumped.
The car was doing it before i swap out the SI motor/tranny with the H22A4/tranny, so i would be guessing its somewhere in the car
92 SI, H22A4 changed over to OBDI

my civic did the same thing when i replaced the alternator. just check the connection of the speedometer wire under the hood. hope this helps.
I have a similar problem, at least I think. Needle reading seems delayed, like it's not able to keep up with my current speed. Hope it's just the weather.
But yeah, everyone keeps saying to check connections.

how about this my speedo quit about 2 months ago, ran through all the diag. and it all pointed to the VSS so i got a new one and put it in and still no work, pulled the VSS out again put my finger in the tranny and that speedo gear on the differential spins freely (suppost to be fixed to the diff.)
sucks for me..waiting for $$ to get a quiafe and put in at the same time i fix it
