Ok my uncle has a 92 civic si HB.

Yesterday the speedo went to 110 all of a sudden then kept going till it hit the peg back at zero again. So it went fully around. When you turn the car off it goes to like 130 or so he said. Back on back to the peg.

Any ideas? I was thinking vss... but hes got no engine light he said. Gonna try and look at it here soon.

its the speedo itself. either replace the speedo itself, or just replace the whole cluster.

a loose speed sensor or bad one will cause that but it would throw a CEL

When my alt was starting to go, the speedo would go crazy, even from just hitting the turn signal. Just another thing to watch for.

I had the same problem and replaced the speedometer. Fixed. This is a year ago and still ok.
