Default Simple valve adj. question

I'm sure the answer is yes, but I just want some answers to make me feel secure. All I want to know is, is it neccessary to set camgears to 0'0 before adjusting valves back to stock settings? Seems more than logical that you do, but I just would like feedback to be sure...TIA

Not necessarily... you just have to have the rocker sitting on the base circle of the cam when changing lash.

Yeah it's not even necessary to have the piston at exactly TDC when checking the valve lash. If you have it somewhere near TDC, the cam lobes won't be touching the rocker arms, which is what's important. When checking the lash on each cylinder, you want the lobes on the exhaust cam to point up and towards the front of the car, and the intake cam lobes should point up and towards the rear of the car.
