Shakin' when brakin'
The car doesn't do this normally, but the other night I was on the interstate and had to hit the brakes pretty hard... The car shook really really bad till it slowed down to about 75 mph and then it stopped. Seems like it only has this problem when I hit the brakes above that speed... what could be going on? Would that problem be covered under warranty?
hmm it could be warped rotors.. but when i had that problem, i had it at slower speeds too, so hmm.. but if it is the rotors.. and you decide to have them replaced instead of turned... then Brembo rocks! i jus got my blanks and the feel is alot better than oem

can thinner rotors be fitted on type r so it doesn't warp so easily?

I'm betting on warped rotors.
may not be warped rotors. if your car doesn't shake all the time when braking, it may not be warped rotors. it could be ghost warping as andy from cobalt friciton explained to me. do to uneven heating up of the rotor because of an inconsistent mixture of materials, the rotor will expand unevenly causing you to feel shuttering when braking. however, when the rotor cools, it'll feel like normal again. it's not fixeable, so if you want to fix it, buy new rotors.
i had this problem, but it.. went away for some reason. ever since i got my P+'s installed, i have not experienced the problem. (i don't know why)

most dealers will tell you that it's a wear item. But, my fiancee just had her rotors replaced under warrenty, although she drives a lexus es300. surprised the crap out of me that they covered it. Ask nicely, they may change yours under warrenty, too.
good luck... why not just take it back to the dealer and have them diagnose the problem for you?
Its not your drive line, NOR your alignment. It is your BRAKES. This, Im almost positive will not be covered under your warranty. There is also a possibility that it could be a stuck caliper.
If you look at your rotor and see "burn" spots, like its a spotted animal, than that is a REALLY GOOD sign to tell you that your calipers are stuck. If you dont see random spots on your rotor, just replace pads and rotors.
Depending on how bad the shake is, you MIGHT be able to turn them and be back on the road in no time.

i'm having this same problem. looks like new rotors for me, too. it only shakes at high speeds 60mph+. also sometimes when when braking, right before i come to a complete stop, the car will want to go to either the right or left. and i have to hold the steering wheel tight to keep the car straight. any ideas guys?
Sounds like you have have warped rotors or you might need to rebalance your tires
