Would air in the cooling system prevent my engine from warming up?
Ok so I have this problem with my Teg. The car won't reach proper operating temperature, that is where the needle rests about 1/2 way (48 % etc) It takes a solid 20+ minutes to reach it and when it does the heat comming out of the vents isn't very warm. At first I thought it was the thermostat, so I changed that and the problem continued. I asked a buddy of mine what he thinks and he says maybe its the water pump that has gone bad, well the car doesn't burn or leak any coolant so I don't know. Anyhow I am starting to think maybe the shop didn't bleed the system properly of air and maybe some got traped inside the cooling system. Possible cause of the problem?
Any ideas on this would be helpful, its getting pretty cold here in Calgary, Canada and without heat its downright nasty
Thanks a bunch
Evan

Try a hotter spark plug. I would also see if you could get the rest of the air, if any out of your cooling system. But you should also check out your heater core. When I warm up my car in the morning, I make sure I don't have the heat on because it takes away from the heat begin hot when I get in the car. I warm it up for about 10 minutes and it is totally warm, the heat that is as well as my motor and it does get cold here too, usually around 15F.
