Default ECU fuse

I know that pulling the ECU fuse will reset the ECU. Is it 100% necessary to let the car idle for a few...then turn it off....then turn it on again?

or rather, after you replace the fuse, can you just drive off after a few seconds?

Just drive off. Your ECU will start fuel corrections either way.
It might feel tad choppy at first but it should get better.
