i might be buying a IHI VJ11 turbo from this guy and i was wondering how much hp gain i will get from it if i run it at like 6-8psi on a basically stock d16y7 (dx) engine.. any info please help

You'll have to tell us the specs on this obscure turbo and of course find a manifold for it...

 

a general rule if everything is tuned correctly is around 10crank hp per psi...
could be more, could be less, but this is as close as we can tell you until you dyno yourself...

 

the car would probrably be faster on nos. and it will b a lot less.

 

But boost is funner since you can use it all the time & turbos can actually be cheaper to put together then buying a nos kit.

maybe so.. lol but call me a what u will but id be too scared to use nitrous on my car... id rather just have something that is always running not somthin i need to hit a button for

and so im probly looking at about 50-70hp gain then.... which is what im looking for... should be alright for my little slow dx!
