i have a 94 del sol and i did a head swap and now the car wont start. it turns over and acts like it want to start but then dies. the cam gear is lined up with the timing gear on the crank and the plug wires are on right but it wont start. what could be wrong?

 

Are you sure its getting fuel?

 

Is there a check engine light before you try to start? In other words, is the fuel pump priming the motor with fuel???

yea, it's getting fuel, i puled the hose off the fuel rail and put it in a bucket and turned the key. and no, there is no check engine light on, if there was then i could figeure it out real quick. but thats the part that i dont understand, it wont start but i dont get a light.

pull out a plug, put the wire back on, rest the electrode on the fram/valve cover, radiator support, etc and see if you have spark.

If your getting fuel and spark, then you need to check the timing, thats really all thats left , or an extreme case of blowby...

 

what is blowby?
