Default how much does it cost to rebuild an engine?

talking about having a shop do it, not doing it myself...mine is burning quite a bit of oil but still seems to have plenty of compression (i have no way to test and get numbers)...how much is the average cost to have an engine rebuilt, all seals replaced, etc? it may be worth it in this case. in addition, how would i go about selecting a shop to do such a thing?

It will be much cheaper to swap or replace the engine. Most shop rates can be around $50 per/hour. You can get a D16A6 for as cheap as $300.
