I have done the search. Again looking for members who OWN this setup and can give me their personal experience. Even if its N/A thats cool to, but really looking for the F/I members. That is unless you can point me to a thread that answers my question in particular. The discussions I found were THEORIZING about what could and could not work.....thats not what I asked.

Well IMO, I think the LSVTEC's and CRVTEC's are just *** reliable as any other engine if built right. I have a bulit LSVTEC that has 1000 miles on it all motor, most of which has been 800 of hard miles. Had a little leaking from the head where it meets the block, did a retorque of the head studs and all gone.

I have bulit many LSVTEC/CRVTEC's for people and never had a problem.

It will turboed this week so I can give you some more reviews on that then.

Here are a few shots..

the block looks painted...but if you are asking to which paint, i dont know.

on the other hand, if you are referring to the gold hue on 'top' of the block, thats copper spray on the headgasket

I have some Revhard parts on my car (i.e. manifold) but a custom turbo kit. I had my block and machining done by JG. Have not had any problems yet. My suggestion is to you is if you are going for a lot of hp, build the motor, don't do it half-assed. If you want reliability just boost at 9 psi all day with no problems.

The paint is 500 degree Dupli-color. And AVATAR has a PM on my secret on how to keep it on there.

B18EG6
Yep thats copper spray, I just wish I could get the block that color...that would be cool... Ok so I am a ricer...

Thanks dude... It took a bit of cleaning and painting but overall I am happy for only a day of work.

LsVTeCTuRBo17
Yep Yep Well really its 9.6 with the shaved head, valves that I used, head gasket thickness and opened combustion chambers. But the pistons are 9.1 for sure, Endyn specials...

No the bore is 84.5mm.... Thanks for the props on the engine bay... I will post the finally ones when I finis putting the turbo on this week.

The valves are made by Manley and they are custom dome valves. Instead of flat or dish they have a slight dome to them, which is supose to smooth the incoming charge out, and help direct exhaust out. And rasie compression..

The sizes are 1mm oversized on the exhaust and .5mm on intake.

I am interested in finding out as well. Unfourtanetly I have a bug for Turbo and when I bought my car it had a LS/Vtec High Compression setup already. I don't want to rebuild so I am looking to go custom turbo for price reasons. I will only attempt to do 5-6 Psi due to the compression. So I guess it would probably be best to look at what the Type R Turbos are doing since they have the High Compression stock.
